I have something to tell you

The dancing I’m doing these days …it’s not normal.
You see, I'm following a very thin line that is forever unfolding.
A line where worlds upon worlds fall upon my lap, and then cascade past — one after another after another.
When I fall off of that line?
That’s when I become normal.
That’s when I become recognizable.
But when I hold the line — when I follow it precisely — when the rigor of the work is at a high level of attention, well….there’s nothing like it in the world.
I was on the line many years ago — before I even knew there was a line to be on — when I got yanked off by a well meaning friend who felt like the line was
Too limiting.
Too unknown.
Too exposed.
Too peculiar.
And I agreed with her, at the time….I promised to never hold the line again.
But it kept coming back, this thin line of dancing, where worlds upon worlds poured through me.
Where the simplicity of it astounded and delighted me yes, but also frightened me, and made me ashamed.
I kept trying to hide it, that line.
I pushed at it and kicked it away because “I'm a dancer, and dancers don’t dare to dance like that. It isn’t normal.”
And then, last year, I found a pond.
A pond I could swim in.
A pond where this line I was following, it was welcomed and looked into, with precision and clarity.
My line was given weight.
And meaning.
And value.
This line is Dog Dance.
If you want to follow this line with me, come to Floorspace on Friday, February 17th at 7pm.
Come and see the dance of the dog…super and otherwise.
With Warmth,

PS:
EMAILS!!
I go through and respond to every email I receive.
Right now I am inundated with emails and I'm struggling to keep up.
It's taking me way longer to respond to emails than it used to...sometimes up to two weeks!
If you have an urgent message that I need to look at right away, indicate that in the subject line so that your email gets placed at the top of my email chain.
If you have sent me an email and I don't respond within two weeks, do re-send, as some emails get lost in the shuffle.
