I'm experimenting with a pop-up class this spring called "Learning Dog Dance."
In this class, we will be specific and rigorous when following the dog dance state:
There will be no music, as the state is generated by listening to one's breath and letting the dance emerge from there.
We will work with little (if any) instruction once we have established the spirit of inquiry from which we will be working.
You may or may not be working for long periods of time as a soloist, depending on how things go.
For those who are curious about inhabiting Dog Dance from a different perspective - other than as an audience member - than this is an opportunity to do that.
We already touch on this state at the beginning of each class -- sometimes staying with it through class, so it will be familiar to all of you.
What's different about this Saturday class is the intentionality and language behind what we are doing: dropping deeper and for longer periods of time to see where this dance and this state leads, lands, merges, and melts.
The next Dog Dance performance will be on Friday, April 21st, and the workshop will happen the next day: Saturday, April 22nd from 1-4pm, location TBA.
